The Emergency Services department is responsible for providing 911 services in Franklin County, coordinating Fire and EMS services, and Emergency Management planning and response. The department employs 12 full time and 3 spare dispatchers and must maintain continuity of operations at all times throughout the year. The dispatch personnel respond to approximately 75,000 calls per year. The department is also responsible for the delivery of the NYS Out-Reach Training Program (Firefighter training). The department maintains the readiness of specialized equipment which include, 4 response units, 4 trailer units, and 3 light towers. The office also coordinates the efforts of 7 specialty teams.
